Faith healer murder - 15NBS team secures the only acquittal

Thomas Nicholson-Pratt (leading) and Liam Walker (Junior) of 15 New Bridge Street secured the acquittal of Khalid Malik in the widely reported ‘Luton faith healer murder'.

Malik, along with his half brother and another, were jointly charged with the murder of faith healer Alfusaine Jabbi, who was found murdered in April 2006. Two others were charged with perverting the course of justice.

Over nine weeks, the jury at Luton Crown Court heard complex evidence resulting from the investigation of computers and mobile phones and listened to the analysis of the pathologist's evidence, all of which illustrated the planned entrapment, torture and murder of the victim.

After more than a week of jury deliberations, Malik was the only defendant to be acquitted of the allegations. Following conviction other defendants received up to a total of 22 years imprisonment.
