Jon Whitfield - Case against IVF doctor collapses

A disciplinary action against one of Britain's top fertility doctors collapsed at the General Medical Council (GMC) on the 23rd October 2008 because of "significant contradictions" in the evidence of his accusers. Jon Whitfield acted as the legal assessor to the fitness to practice panel.

Dr MT was accused of failing to keep proper medical records, applying inappropriate pressure on one patient and displaying insensitivity to another.

A GMC fitness to practice panel ruled that allegations against Dr MT, who runs the London-based Assisted Reproduction and Gynaecology Centre, did not amount to misconduct.
