Stan Reiz successfully defends 16 year old accused of six counts of rape![]() The defendant ("G"), faced six counts of rape and one count of inciting sexual activity with a child for alleged offences committed against three children. The two female complainants alleged that G had threatened them at knifepoint over a three year period and committed serious sexual offences on them. The abuse was said to have started when the girls were 7 and 10 years old. The defendant himself would have been 11 years old at the time. The third complainant who was the defendant's cousin, alleged that G threatened to kill his mother and stepfather if he refused to perform a sexual act on him. At the time of trial, G was 16 years of age. He denied the allegations claiming they were fabricated. After a 7 day trial at the Isleworth Crown Court in June 2009, G was unanimously acquitted by the jury of each of the seven counts he faced. Stan Reiz has substantial experience in cross-examining young complainants in cases involving serious allegations of sexual abuse. 23 July 2009 |
