[Image] Police vehicle sign

In March 2001 Mr. J attended stag night celebrations in Brighton with a number of friends.

An incident occurred in a local night club and local Police officers were called. Within minutes of attending one of the Police Officers struck Mr. J a blow with a police baton (an "ASP") causing an open wound to his forehead. John Burton advised, settled proceedings and conducted a three day hearing in the resulting High Court Action for Mr. J.

At the end of the proceedings the Deputy Chief Constable of Sussex Police made an apology to Mr. J for the injuries caused, which was read out in Open Court and which was then reduced to writing and sent to Mr. J.

Mr. J also received an award of damages and costs in the proceedings.
