Kyri Argyropoulos and Archangelo Power secure favourable sentences for defendants convicted of robbery![]() In this case the court considered imposing indeterminate life sentences to protect the public, however, the judge was pursuaded against this course despite the defendants' horrific history of previous offending (including other robberies) and the numerous aggravating features of the case. The defendants received 6 year sentences despite the fact that they had all been convicted, together, of a serious rape nearly ten years ago. The rape took place at a canal near Kings Cross and received widespread national publicity at the time. In this instance they received 11 and 12 year sentences despite being youths.
