Jonathan Whitfield QC and Liam Walker secure acquittal on “Halloween murder” caseFollowing a five week trial at the Old Bailey MK, represented by Jon Whitfield QC and Liam Walker, was acquitted of murder on 9th July 2010. Four defendants were tried for the murder of Richard Price, which was alleged to have been committed on Halloween 2009. All defendants accepted being present in an alley where Price died. The Crown adduced evidence of pathologists and blood experts to suggest that the defendants had been guilty of kicking Price to death. Despite MK being subjected to cut throat defences on behalf of all other defendants he was acquitted of murder unanimously.
