Christopher Bertham secures acquittals in 'Operation Misfit' graffiti trial

[Image] Handcuffs & key

Gordon McDermott, alleged to have been the graffiti writer "CUT", was acquitted of causing criminal damage in an operation that investigated £ 1/2 million graffiti damage principally caused to London Underground and Network Rail structures and trains.

Christopher Bertham, leading Mark Bagshaw for Mr McDermott, secured the acquittals after having called as a witness Ben Eine, the internationally acclaimed street artist, to rebut claims made by prosecution witnesses that they could confidently identify the same hand-style through all of the tags relating to "Cut". Other Defendants were convicted of causing criminal damage to varying extents.
