Neil Mercer

1988

Neil is a highly experienced criminal practitioner. He both defends and prosecutes, and regularly appears as a leader. Neil's main areas of practice are: serious fraud, terrorism, plastic crime, murder, very large scale drug importations, firearms offences (especially Operation Trident), sexual offences, ‘steaming' and large scale public disorder (especially football matches). Neil also appears in environmental cases, particularly waste and water cases. He also acts in planning inquiries, mainly for local authorities.

Neil also appears in matrimonial cases, both finance and children. Neil also has an interest in prison law. He sits as a legal assessor at the General Medical Council and the Health Professionals Council as well as sitting on an ad hoc basis at the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
