Walter Aylen QC1962 (QC 1983)Walter is a specialist in Criminal law and also practises across the areas of Professional Negligence; Clinical Negligence; Personal Injury and Commercial Law. He prosecutes and defends in all major crime, including large-scale frauds such as VAT, company and mortgage. In silk, he has prosecuted fraud, fraudulent trading and sexual abuse. He was Leading Counsel for the Crown in the case of R v Dhillon and Frearson in the Crown Court and in the Court of Appeal. Since the case of Preddy (1996) A.C. 815 preceded the hearing of the case of Dhillon in the Court of Appeal, Leading Counsel on Preddy was retained by the Crown for the hearing in the House of Lords. Instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service, he appeared in a leading case relating to the operation of the restraint order under the Criminal Justice Act 1988: Re O (Restraint Order: Disclosure of Assets) (1991) 2 QB 520. As junior Counsel and in silk, he has extensive practise in a wide variety of civil claims, in particular professional negligence (of all sorts), personal injury, commercial and insurance related matters and has appeared in a number of public law cases relating to a differing mass of case material.
